公司于1970年筹建，于1973年建成，是一个以天然气为主要原料，生产合成氨、碳氨的化工企业。现有总资产6800万元，占地76600平方米，现有职工300多人，其中工程技术人员80人（工程师2人，中级技术人员20人）。从1974年起今，经过多次重大技术改造、扩建和新产开发，已具有年产合成氨5万吨、碳酸氢铵10万吨、复混肥5万吨、氨水3万吨、食品级CO2 2万吨、塑料制品1000吨的生产能力。
